Last Mile to Industrial Sites

Access, equipment and safety at industrial receivers in Victoria.

Industrial last mile is not residential delivery with a bigger truck. Induction rules and equipment dependencies must be respected for first-time success.

Site access

We keep notes for regular receivers: gate codes, max length, trailer bans.

New sites get a qualification call first.

Construction and food processing plants may require escorted access and PPE — driver time must be scheduled, not squeezed into a retail-style window.

Equipment

Tail-lift is useless without ground to unload onto.

Oversized loads may need open-deck equipment and permits.

Safety

Drivers follow site speed limits and sign in.

Rejected freight is documented; re-delivery discussed clearly.

Multi-stop runs

Grouping industrial stops by precinct saves cost but one site that holds a vehicle for hours without a booking can destroy the run.

We balance efficiency with window commitments explicitly in the quote — sometimes two smaller vehicles are cheaper operationally than one long vehicle stuck in a queue.

Receiver notes are stored for regular sites so repeat deliveries do not rediscover the same gate rules.

Our stance

We will not pressure drivers to breach site rules.

Share maintenance shutdowns and planned closures early.
