Ad-hoc & Urgent Freight

Ad-hoc & Urgent Freight

Same-week movements reviewed case by case — complete cargo and lane detail speeds our office response.

Ad-hoc urgent bookings are reviewed case by case. Complete cargo and lane detail by phone speeds response.

Scope and role

From 155/50 Palmers Road, Truganina, HPS FREIGHT provides ad-hoc urgent road freight for Victorian importers, distributors and manufacturers when receiving rules, documentation or lane complexity exceed a simple courier booking.

Road dispatch, warehouse handling and customer communication stay in one office so you are not chasing separate providers when a shipment changes.

Planning before dispatch

Quotes use real cargo data: weight, cubic measure, pallet count, pickup and delivery constraints, and site instructions. Call 03 8820 5141 or email info@hpsfreight.com.au with complete detail.

We confirm vehicle type, cut-off times and compliance paperwork before wheels roll. Regulated goods with incomplete documentation are not moved.

On-road execution

Drivers present consignment notes that match receiver references. Tail-lift, hand unload and forklift deliveries are booked deliberately.

Refused deliveries are recorded with reasons. We discuss re-delivery options transparently.

Warehouse linkage

When ad-hoc urgent road freight includes storage, inbound manifests align with outbound runs to avoid idle double handling.

Advance shipment notices help allocate dock time. Label photos reduce SKU mismatches when carton codes differ from your inventory system.

Import and export touchpoints

Forwarding coordination aligns broker release with de-stuff, storage and Victorian road legs.

Containers should not sit in port precincts while transport is re-quoted from scratch on each arrival.

Capacity and peak periods

We prefer early volume conversations. Cut-off changes are communicated in writing during busy weeks.

Holding capacity honestly protects core customers instead of accepting everything and failing selectively.

Measurement that matters

Performance is measured against agreed windows and documented handovers, not informal expectations.

Share receiving hours, holiday closures and peak blackouts at the start of a relationship.

Enquiries

When ad-hoc works

Ad-hoc bookings succeed when cargo detail is complete: weight, dimensions, pickup and delivery addresses, contact phones, and equipment needs. Phone detail after an email helps the office prioritise.

We confirm realistic collection and delivery windows — not optimistic promises that collapse under warehouse or traffic delay.

When we may decline

Incomplete dangerous-goods paperwork, impossible same-day capacity, or receivers known to refuse unbooked vehicles are declined or rescheduled with clear reasons.

We confirm carrier and handover details when partner linehaul is involved.

After hours and urgency

For time-critical freight, call the office after submitting manifests to info@hpsfreight.com.au. Attachments beat verbal-only instructions.

If the movement includes warehouse handling, confirm stock is physically ready and labelled before requesting urgent collection.

Cost transparency

Ad-hoc pricing reflects lane, equipment, and opportunity cost on the day. We discuss re-delivery and waiting charges before they appear as surprises on an invoice.
